From its foundation, GSOM has demonstrated vigorous and sustained growth, developing a diverse portfolio of business education programs including Bachelor, Pre-Experience Master, Executive MBA and Doctoral programs. In addition, GSOM offers Double Degree EMBA and Double Degree Master programs in cooperation with HEC Paris, and Executive Education programs in association with the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. Currently GSOM has over 60 full-time professors and counts more than 150 visiting Russian and international professors among its educators.
GSOM enjoys exceptional relationships with members of both the Russian and international business communities through joint research, guest lectures, Summer Internship Programs and other ongoing activities. Over 4000 graduates are members of the GSOM Alumni Association.
Worldwide acknowledgment of GSOM and its achievements has resulted in internationally recognized accreditation by AMBA (EMBA Program) and EPAS (Bachelor Program), as well as an important position as the only member representing Russia in the CEMS and PIM business school associations.
GSOM counts over 40 of the world’s leading business schools and universities among its academic partners and runs student exchanges based on bilateral credit transfer. In 2011 GSOM was ranked the #1 Business School in Russia (for the 4th year in a row) and #2 in Eastern Europe, as per the EDUNIVERSAL Official Selection.
GSOM is recognized as the leader in Russian scientific research in the field of management and maintains dynamic, internationally focused academic research centers in the field of entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, marketing, international logistic. The school regularly hosts prestigious conferences (most notably with the participation of Nobel Laureates in economics J. Nash, R. Aumann, R. Selten) and publishes leading academic journals such as the Russian Management Journal and the Vestnik of SPbU Series Management. Many of these projects are carried out in cooperation with other university departments to reflect the interdisciplinary approach of modern management theory.
St. Petersburg University
Founded in 1724, St. Petersburg University is the oldest institution of higher education in Russia. During its 286 years of existence, the University has earned recognition as one of the leading institutions of higher education in Russia: its rich history, large-scale research activities, development and innovation put the University at the forefront of Russian academic practice.
In November 2009 Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a law granting St. Petersburg University the special status of "a unique scientific and educational complex, the oldest institution of higher education in Russia being of great importance to the development of Russian society" with the right to award its own diplomas bearing the official seal of the Russian Federation.
